On Trust Funds and the Challenges With Being Rich – An Interview With Megan Gill

SUBSCRIBE: Apple Podcasts | Stitcher | Google Play | Android Apps

Does being rich mean all your problems go away?

In theory, yes.

In reality, far from it.

Former co-host Garrett Philbin and I invited Megan Gill to chat with us about how someone with a large amount of wealth has to manage their relationships. It’s equal parts uncomfortable and uplifting as Megan shares the shame and guilt that comes with being a “trust fund” kid. She lays it all out there, from the need to hide in her shell, to working through the shame in therapy, and her desire to be seen as a valid member of society.

What You Hear in This Episode:

    • How Megan grew up surrounded by wealth and how she learned of her privilege
    • Her guilt at having more money and why she felt she’s had to hide it
    • The types of inappropriate questions others have asked regarding her status
  • How Megan plans on use her privilege as a force of good in the world
